    Bioresponsive Release Systems

    1. Development of native and modified amino acid sequences, which are responsively cleaved by proteases ('cleavable linker'). Synthesis is by solid state peptide synthesis.
    2. Connecting the cleavable linker to new chemical entities/biologics or polymers to control pharmacokinetics. Areas of active projects include:
    • Profiling the human tongue as a 24/7 available detector for inflammatory diseases of the oral cavity
    • Bioresponsive unloading of peptide drugs at sites of sarcopenic/cachectic muscle
    • Bioresponsive unloading of antibiotics to bacteria
