Travel information

The Institute for Pharmacy and Food Chemistry is located at the campus "Hubland". You can reach us by car and/or public transportation very easily.

If you arrive by car, free parking is available besides the street "Am Hubland", on the campus are, as well as within the University car park. However, during the semester space might be limited!

  • The closest train station is Würzburg Central Station ("Hauptbahnhof", connection via ICE/IC/EC).

    Please visit the "Deutsche Bahn" website for information on schedules and connections. Meanwhile the schedules of the public transportation (busses, streetcars) can be found on this website by using the connection search.

    From central station you can reach the campus "Am Hubland" via the bus lines 14 or 114, respectively.

Bus line 14: Take the bus line 14 (direction: "Gerbrunn") and exit at the stop "Am Hubland" (approx. 15 min). From the bus stop follow the walkway to the campus, crossing the "Theodor-Boveri-Weg".
After passing the main library and the cafeteria, the Faculty of Chemistry and the Institute of Pharmacy are located in the third builing to the right. 

Linie 114 (does not run during the Bavarian summer and winter school holidays!): Take the bus line 114 (direction: "Fachhochschule") until its last stop "Hubland/Mensa" (approx. 20 min). Walk up the stairs and you will find yourself on the open space between the library (to the left) and the cafeteria (to the right). Turn right and after having passed the cafeteria you will directly be in front of the entrance of the Faculty of Chemistry and Pharmacy.

Please note that the university buildings do not have regular street numbers but internal building numbers only. If you arrive at the junction you will see a large modern building which is your destination (C7).

If you do not have a car navigation system please consider the following instructions:

  • Leave the motorway A7 at the junction Würzburg/Estenfeld (exit no. 101). 
  • Follow the highway B19 towards Würzburg (approx. 5 km). 
  • After passing the town sign "Würzburg" take the left lane ("Stadtring Süd"). 
  • At the second traffic light: turn left into the street Rottendorfer Straße (direction "Gerbrunn"). 
  • After approx. 1 km turn right into the street "Am Galgenberg" (direction "Gerbrunn"). 
  • Follow the street for approx. 1 km, then turn right at the traffic light into the street "Am Hubland". 
  • The Faculty of Chemistry and Pharmacy is located on the left, after having passed the main library and the cafeteria (3rd building). Parking lots can be found along the street "Am Hubland". 

  • Leave the motorway A7 at the junction Biebelried (exit no. 102) and change to the motorway A3 direction Frankfurt.
  • Leave the motorway A3 at the junction Würzburg/Rottendorf (exit no. 72). 
  • Follow the highway B8 towards Würzburg (approx. 5 km). 
  • Leave the B8 at the exit Gerbrunn. 
  • Turn right into the street "Kitzinger Straße" (towards "Gerbrunn"). 
  • Follow the "Kitzinger Straße" until it ends on a crossroad (approx. 2 km). 
  • Turn right into the street "Am Galgenberg". 
  • After approx. 500 m turn left at the second traffic light into the street "Am Hubland". 
  • The Faculty of Chemistry and Pharmacy is located on the left, after having passed the main library and the cafeteria (3rd building). Parking lots can be found along the street "Am Hubland". 

  • Leave the motorway A3 at the junction Würzburg/Rottendorf (exit no. 72). 
  • Follow the highway B8 towards Würzburg (approx. 5 km). 
  • Leave the B8 at the exit "Gerbrunn". 
  • Turn right into the street "Kitzinger Straße" (towards "Gerbrunn"). 
  • Follow the "Kitzinger Straße" until it ends on a crossroad (approx. 2 km).

  • Follow the highway B19 towards Würzburg (approx. 1 km). 
  • Cross the river Main, take the left lane and follow the ring road ("Stadtring"). 
  • Leave the ring road towards Frauenland/Uni-Hubland and turn right into the street "Zeppelinstraße" (approx. 2 km). 
  • Follow the "Zeppelinstraße" through a residential area and up to the end. It leads into the crossroad "Am Hubland" (approx. 2 km).
  • The Insitute of Pharmacy is directly located at this intersection. Parking lots can be found along the street "Am Hubland". 

  • Leave the motorway A81 at the motorway junction Würzburg-West (exit no. 1) and change to the motorway A3 towards Nürnberg. 
  • Leave the motorway A3 at the junction Würzburg-Heidingsfeld (exit no. 70). 
  • Cross the river Main, take the left lane and follow the ring road ("Stadtring"). 
  • Leave the ring road towards Frauenland/Uni-Hubland and turn right into the street "Zeppelinstraße" (approx. 2 km).
